Kenyans couldn’t get enough of football legend Emmanuel Adebayor as he hosted the Manchester United vs Arsenal match in Nairobi on Sunday.
The former Manchester City striker arrived in Kenya for the watch party on Friday. He honoured an invitation by a local staking company with branches in Kenya and Uganda.
His Kenyan fans were delighted to share 94 minutes of the match with the Togolese, a former Arsenal player too.
They wouldn’t hide their excitement as a the legend watched his former club square it out with the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Emmanuel Adebayor hosted the Manchester United vs Arsenal match at a popular club, Bar Next Door located on the Northern bypass, off Kiambu Road.
It was the much-anticipated clash on Sunday for football fans. A heavy downpour in major parts of the country didn’t water down the hype around this match.

Adebayor’s presence at the posh club made it all fun watching the match. Revellers and football fans flocked to the joint to steal a moment with the retired footballer.
He got a heroic welcome courtesy of the club’s staff. Adebayor also enjoyed memorable moments interacting freely with fans at the club.
He said that he enjoyed the level of energy that Kenyans had from the day he touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Watching Arsenal try to thrash Manchester United at Old Trafford together with Kenyans felt surreal, he said.
“Nairobi, you did not disappoint! 🇰🇪 Big shoutout to all my Kenyan fans who pulled up for the watch party—your energy was next level! The love and support were unreal. Until next time!” he wrote on his Instagram Page after the match.
Who won the Manchester United vs Arsenal Clash?
The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Bruno Fernandes scored for the Red Devils in the 45th minute through a free-kick. This was despite Arsenal dominating ball possession in the first half of the game.
Mikel Arteta’s team had it rough scoring in the first 49 minutes (additional 4 minutes) of the fame. United under Ruben Amorim mounted a lethal defence that frustrated the Gunners at every chance they got to score.
For a moment, United seemed out of rhythm but Fernandes sealed the team’s half-time victory with a clean free-kick. David Raya, Arsenal’s goalkeeper missed this shot.
Charged to equalise, Arsenal proved lethal in the second half. Even its former striker Emmanuel Adebayor could see the team’s vigour.
Declan Rice scored for Arsenal in the 74th minute. He made a beautiful strike to United’s net guarded by Andre Onana – which he missed.

With a 1-1, both teams mounted a strong defence for the rest of the game. However, Onana saved Man United severally from Arsenal’s onslaught at Old Trafford.
The match ended in a draw, with each team getting a point on the Premier League table. Arsenal sits second with 55 points while Manchester United stands 14th with 34 points.

The Togolese was for the Gunners as they faced off with Manchester United. He played for three and a half seasons for Arsenal between 2009 and 2009.
Emmanuel Adebayor then joined Manchester City for two seasons with 34 appearances for Etihad.
