The tennis world witnessed one of the most exciting matches this year as Jannik Sinner rallied past Novak Djokovic to book his spot in Wimbledon final. World number one Sinner dominated the veteran Djokovic 6-3 6-3 6-4 on day 12 at Wimbledon, ending his hopes of winning a record 25th Grand Slam title at the All England Club.
Sinner’s memorable victory saw him reach his first Wimbledon final and set up a rematch of July’s French Open final with Carlos Alcaraz. The 23-year-old Italian will be looking to avenge his loss at Roland Garros in the highly anticipated clash which will take place on Sunday, July 13.
Tennis new kings Sinner and Alcaraz have reached the final of men’s singles final in the last six Grand Slam tournaments. Whereas Alcaraz will be aiming for a third Wimbledon title, Sinner is targeting a first title away from the hard courts.

Speaking after booking his spot in Sunday’s final, Sinner said he is hoping it will be an enjoyable match like their last meeting at the French Open final.
“It’s a huge honour for me to share the court again with Carlos. Hopefully it will be a good match like the last one – I don’t know if it will be better because I don’t know if that’s possible but we will try – hopefully it will be an enjoyable match.” Sinner said as per BBC Sport.

How Sinner Outsmarted Djokovic In Wimbledon Semi-final
Both Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic came into the match with injuries. Sinner had an uncomfortable right elbow while the Serbian had difficulty in movement after an awkward fall very late in his quarter-final match against Flavio Cobolli on Wednesday.
Whereas Djokovic struggled with movement on the court, Sinner appeared untroubled and used the advantage to his opportunity early on in the first set. The Serb great wen down an early break but tried to put on a tough challenge with the game 5-3. However, Sinner was too good for him and eventually wrapped the first set 6-3.
The 23-year-old continued with his dominance in the second set and went on to win without his opponent creating any break point. Djokovic took a medical break after losing the second set and despite threatening a comeback in the third set, Sinner proved to be good and eventually went on to seal the victory. He needed just one hour and 55 minutes to beat Djokovic and book his spot in the final.

Djokovic, 38, is aiming to become the oldest Grand Slam singles champion in the Open era. However, the historical title has been elusive for him this year, especially due to the presence of Sinner and Alcaraz who are the new faces of tennis.
Djokovic has reached the semifinal of all three majors this year, beating players above him in the rankings. Despite losing the thriller on Friday, he still has a chance of winning major number 25 at the US Open later this year. He will also return to Wimbledon next year for at least one last time, as per BBC.
