Lewis Hamilton Puma merchandise demand is overwhelming, fresh reports by the official Ferrari kit partner indicate.

Hamilton ditched Mercedes at the end of the 2024 season to join Scuderia Ferrari after 12 seasons. It remains the biggest moves in the world of F1.

His official season as a Ferrari driver comes with an overwhelming demand for his merchandise piling pressure on Puma.

Puma is the official kit partner for Ferrari responsible for the production of the team’s merchandise. Hamilton fans followed him to his new home after leaving Mercedes where they supported him for 12 seasons.

SportBusiness reports that Ferrari sales increased eight times since the British F1 driver joined the team. The increase in sales have pushed Lewis Hamilton Puma merchandise demand to overwhelming levels.

The Maranello-headquartered team is living its marketing dream with Hamilton in the picture. A photo by the seven-time F1 champion at the front of Ferrari founder’s house Enzo Ferrarri garnered over 5.7 million Instagram likes.

This number converts to massive merchandise sales on the marketing side which Puma is dealing with. Insider details reveal that the team wasn’t aware that Hamilton racing for Scuderia Ferrari would have such profound fans support.

Understandably, the 40-year-old won the hearts of previously lukewarm Ferrari fans. Him joining the team sort of activated their team support, something that caught Puma off-guard.

Hence, the headache that is Lewis Hamilton Puma merchandise demand. Puma has made huge sales from Hamilton’s iconic number 44 Ferrari cap and the demand remains unmet.

A look at Puma’s website lists the cap as ‘out of stock’ painting a picture of the merchandise pressure Puma is grappling with.

How Much is Ferrari Paying Lewis Hamilton?

Hamilton has a $446 million deal with Scuderia Ferrari stretching beyond his salary as a team driver. His salary alone for 2025 is $87 million. However, he earns more for his joint investment fund with Ferrari’s parent company, Exor.

Exor’s current value is estimated to be $272 million. Further, Hamilton has additional perks from Ferrari who partially fund his Mission 44 organization.

Other perks pushing towards $446 million include his Ferrari ambassador role. Earlier, Hamilton rejected a $50 million per season deal with the Italian team with John Elkann, the Ferrari chairman leading the talks.

The British driver re-engaged in the talks after Ferrari’s offer to fund Mission 44 Organization. This created a way for more perks and bonuses including a possible contract extension to 2026 season.

All this have triggered Lewis Hamilton Puma merchandise demand. He says to much who is given, much is expected.

His fans are eager to see what he delivers for Ferrari after straining with Mercedes for three seasons.

How Much was Mercedes Paying Hamilton?

Mercedes paid Hamilton $45 million per year in 2023 and 2024. It was the best bargain in F1 back in 2023 when he signed a two-year contract extension.

The Toto Wolff-led outfit did not counter Ferrari’s offer. Wolff said that the team would respect Hamilton’s decision to exit.

On his part, Hamilton praised Mercedes for building his F1 career for over a decade. He won six of his seven F1 World Championship with Mercedes AMG. He joined the German team in 2013 from McLaren but did not win that season.

He won from 2014 to 2020, not to forget the disputed 2021 championship which went to Max Verstappen of Red Bull.
