He is a brother to Titi Ameobi as well as Sammy Ameobi, Ifeniola Ameniobi, Toluwalola Ameobi and Tomi Ameobi. His younger brothers Sammy and Tomi are also professional footballers. His father is a pastor and they were brought up in a very religious background and is married to Jeniffer Ameobi.
Career
Shola Ameobi net worth started when he signed a pre-contract with Newcastle in 1997. He went through youth training making his debut in the reserves against Sunderland. Two years later, he made his first team debut in a home game against Chelsea.
Ameobi made 22 appearances for Newcastle that season standing for Alan Shearer and Carl Cort who were injured. He illustrated his performances in the 2002-03 Champions League when he equalized a goal against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
