Joseph Edward Root alias Joe Root 33, was born in the year 1990, 30th December, in Sheffield, Yorkshire. As already revealed, he is an international cricket player who has continually shown his prowess over the years. His parents are Helen and Matt Root.
The talented cricketer, who bears the nickname The Golden Child, has a younger brother and sister. His brother, Billy Root, is also a recognized cricket player currently playing for Glamorgan. He plays as a batsman but also bowls right-arm off break. Joe Root’s sister, Wanda Root, isn’t an athlete but shows up during matches to support her brothers.
Talking of his personal life, the brilliant batsman is currently married to a woman named Carrie Cotterell. The two met some years ago through a mutual friend at the popular Headingley bar, The Arc. Carrie used to work as a bar manager before she fell in love with Root. Root started playing cricket while attending Dore Primary. On 18 July 2007, he made his Yorkshire debut in a match debut against Derbyshire. After Yorkshire secured the ProARCH Trophy, he was named the best academy player. His impressive performance saw him earn promotion to the senior team.
After a series of amazing display, he received a call to the national team and marked his international debut in the year 2012, December, in Nagpur, India. Joe Root is well known for playing for the England cricket team and has served as a captain before.
