How Much Weight Has Dave Bautista Lost?

“What happened to Dave Bautista?” This is one of the most asked questions after Batista’s most recent photos at the red carpet became a topic of discussion. His transformation did not only leave fans surprised but also intrigued.

According to Marca, Batista opened up about his weight loss journey a few days ago during an interview with Chris Van Vliet. The former WWE heavyweight champion thinks that he’s the lightest he’s been since turning 19. According to the website, Batista weighed an astonishing 370 lbs at his heaviest. Throughout most of his wrestling days, the now Hollywood star weighed 325 lbs, but he now weighs 240 lbs.

Bautista gained weight during the making of the 2022 apocalyptic thriller Knock at the Cabin. He reached 315 lbs and the nightmare of losing weight began afterwards. The 55-year-old began focusing on his diet and turned to jiu-jitsu this summer while trying to lose weight. Batista has now lost 84 lbs in the last 18 months.

Is Batista Vegan?

Batista has made several life-changing decisions since he brought to an end his wrestling career. Apart from his lifestyle, the former WWE champion is also keen on his diet.

Surprisingly to many, Batista’s diet is vegetarian. He follows a mostly plant-based diet and stopped eating red meat and pork in 2010. Despite trying to take as many calories as possible during his wrestling days, Batista cut out dairy products after realizing they made his asthma condition worse.

Does Batista Have Asthma?

Prior to 2020, only a few of Batista fans knew that he was asthmatic. The WWE veteran struggled with the condition throughout his career in the ring and once revealed that cold arenas were hell for him.

Batista used to hide inhalers under the ring to help him in case of an attack mid-fight. He also disclosed that he struggled to compete in matches that went for more than 30 minutes due to his condition.

What nationality is Batista?

Batista was born in Washington D.C., United States to David Michael Bautista and Donna Raye. He is of Filipino descent through his father who was born to Filipino immigrants. According to the former wrestler’s Wikipedia page, his grandfather served in the Philippine military.

Batista grew up in poverty, something which forced him into violent crime at an early age. He worked as a bouncer at a nightclub and a lifeguard before deciding to pursue a career in professional wrestling.

The American made his wrestling debut in 1999 at the age of 30 under the ring name Khan. He signed with WWF (now WWE) in 2000 and went on to achieve great success. Batista, a six-time world champion, then transitioned into acting and has since featured in several films.
