Career
Evander Holyfield started boxing when he was just seven years old. When he turned 13, he qualified to compete in Junior Olympics. By the age of 15, Holyfield became the Southeastern Regional Champion, winning the regional tournament and the Best Boxer award. In 1984, he had a record of 160 wins.
Holyfield represented the United States in the 1983 Pan American Games in Venezuela, winning the silver medal. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics, winning Bronze in the Light Heavyweight division. He turned pro after the Olympics.
Holyfield moved up to the cruiserweight division in 1985 and won his first title the following year after defeating Dwight Muhammad Qawi. The American boxer also competed as a heavyweight, recording his first win in 1988 when he defeated Buster Douglas. He claimed the Ring, Lineal, WBC, WBA and IBF titles.

Over the course of his career, Evander Holyfield recorded victories against notable fighters. One of his most recognized fights was with Mike Tyson in 1997 when Tyson was disqualified for biting off part of Holyfield’s ear.
