Further, the 30-year-old was the only one of the top 99 WTA players who did not register to play in the 2025 US Open slated for August.

Her biggest setback has been recurring injuries, and it affected every aspect of her tennis career. This explains one of the reasons for Ons Jabeur tennis break.

For the past two years, I’ve been pushing myself so hard, fighting through injuries and facing many other challenges. But deep down, I haven’t truly felt happy on the court for some time now,” she wrote on her Instagram page.

Jabeur expressed her love for tennis, but noted that she is mentally drained to keep playing this season.

“Tennis is such a beautiful sport. But right now, I feel it’s time to take a step back and finally put myself first: to breathe, to heal, and to rediscover the joy of simply living.
