1. Alexander Isak – Liverpool

Alexander Isak established himself as one of the best strikers in the world during his time at Newcastle United. The Swede helped Newcastle win the Carabao Cup last season before making a decision to leave this summer. As many expected, the Magpies didn’t approve of his desire to join Liverpool and tried their best to make him stay. But Isak had already made up his mind and the move eventually had to happen.

Liverpool acquired Isak on the transfer deadline day for £125 million, making him the most expensive player in the history of Premier League. The 25-year-old will have the opportunity to make his debut for the Reds on Sunday when they take on Burnley.

2. Alejandro Garnacho – Chelsea

Alejandro Garnacho finally made the move from Manchester United to Chelsea over the summer. The Argentine youngster is one of the few players who have represented both sides. He joined Chelsea on August 30th for a reported fee of £40 million.

Garnacho showed brilliance several times during his time at Old Trafford, and there’s no doubt that he could do the same while representing Chelsea. The 21-year-old could eventually have the chance to make his debut for Chelsea tonight when the Blues travel to Brentford.

3. Gianluigi Donnarumma – Manchester City

After a successful spell with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, Gianluigi Donnarumma turned to the Premier League where he signed with Manchester City. Many are waiting to see how he’ll perform under Pep Guardiola considering he’s not such a great passer while the City boss prefers goalkeepers with high passing accuracy.

Donnarumma ended the 2024-25 campaign with a passing accuracy of 84.5%, with only 62 of his long passes meeting their targets. Meanwhile, City’s immediate former number one goalkeeper Ederson had a passing accuracy of 86.3% and 139 accurate long balls.

Nevertheless, Donnarumma is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and it would be interesting to see him make big saves this weekend in the Manchester derby.

4. Xavi Simons – Tottenham Hotspur

For a long time, Xavi Simons was linked to Chelsea. In fact, sources reported that the Dutchman had reached an agreement with the Blues before the FIFA Club World Cup. However, he ended up signing with Tottenham Hotspur in the last days of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Spurs needed a new star at the club following Heung-min Son’s exit in the summer. Thomas Frank’s side picked up the phone and Simons answered. The youngster watched his new club suffer a 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth and will have the opportunity to make his Premier League debut this weekend.

5. Nick Woltemade – Newcastle United

Newcastle United faced several rejections this summer. With time running out, they ended up importing the 6ft 6in forward Nick Woltemade for Germany.
