The WTA Tour also noted that she wouldn’t play in the 2025 US Open together with 99 other tennis players.

Ons Jabeur return to tennis will take longer than expected, she said. The Tunisian explained that she won’t play tennis for a while because she is expecting her first child.
She said that her focus, and that of Karim Kammoun, her husband, is on welcoming their baby boy in April 2025.
For this, she her presence on the WTA Tour will have to wait for at least another season as she nurses her first child.
Jabeur, 30, maintained that starting a family is just as fulfilling as playing tennis.

Jabeur admitted to being unhappy while playing tennis for a while now. This created mental stress and it affected her performance at the start of the 2025 season.
Injuries plagued her for the most part, and they impacted her tennis career in every way pushing her to take a hiatus.
She informed her fans via her Instagram page that her recurring injuries made her performance dip and that made her unhappy.
“For the past two years, I’ve been pushing myself so hard, fighting through injuries and facing many other challenges. But deep down, I haven’t truly felt happy on the court for some time now,” she sated.
Jabeur exited Wimbledon in its early stages, crushing her fans’ hope of taking another shot at the Grand Slam.
Is Ons Jabeur Coming Back to Tennis?
Although it will take a while for Ons Jabeur return to tennis, she is positive that her comeback will be bigger and better.
The first five months of the 2025 season weren’t easy for her. She ranked No. 42, but she couldn’t maintain a consistent run due to injuries.
She was out of world No 70 by the end of the grass-court season in June. Following her exit from Wimbledon, she said that her resolve to take a break would help her regain her top performance.
Jabeur attained a top WTA ranking of world No 2 in June 2022. She played thrice in major Grand Slam finals.

However, after losing to Marketa Vondrousova at the 2023 Wimbledon final, she said she was heartbroken for missing the trophy and a chance to have a baby right away.
Jabeur planned to embark on an intensive baby making process immediately after Wimbledon 2023. Her dream was to win her first Grand Slam and then welcome her first baby.
