English Premier League club Manchester United have announced ‘record revenue for the fiscal year of 2025’, despite the men’s team performing poorly on the pitch. The Red Devils had a torrid 2024-25 season in which they finished 15th on the Premier League standings and didn’t win any trophy. It was their worst campaign since being relegated at the end of the 1973-74 season.
United have started the 2025-26 season poorly and there are no real signs that things could get better at the club anytime soon. They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the first round by Grimsby Town of League Two late last month and have only won one out of four league matches so far.

Despite their struggles on the pitch, the Red Devils have earned a record financial revenue of £666.5 million. The start of their five-year lucrative sponsorship with Snapdragon greatly contributed to the earnings as it helped the club get a record commercial revenue of £333.3 million. United also posted a record £160.3 million in matchday revenue following the hiking of ticket prices.

Manchester United Chief Executive Officer Omar Berrada is pleased with the findings after a difficult year.
“To have generated record revenues during such a challenging year for the club demonstrates the resilience which is a hallmark of Manchester United … As we start to feel the benefits of our cost-reduction programme, there is significant potential for improved financial performance, which will, in turn, support our overriding priority: success on the pitch.” The Guardian quotes Omar Berrada.
United are expecting revenue ranging from £640 million to £660 million in the next financial year despite not playing European football. The Red Devils could be playing in this season’s UEFA Champions League if they had beaten Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League in May.
Berrada stated that they are putting in effort to ensure the club improves in all areas. The club made several major signings during the 2025 summer transfer window for both the men’s and women’s teams.
Is Ruben Amorim Getting Sacked?
United have had the worst start to a Premier League season in 33 years. They lost the opening match of the season to Arsenal and were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Fulham.
Ruben Amorim’s side recorded their first win of the season when they narrowly beat Burnley 3-2, thanks to Bruno Fernandes penalty deep in stoppage time. However, they were humiliated 3-0 by Manchester City in the Manchester derby last weekend.

United began the season with three potential trophies to compete for, but their hopes were reduced to two after a shock Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town in late August. And if they continue to struggle on the pitch, they could go without a title at the end of this season.

Head coach Amorim is now under pressure as a good number of fans have lost faith in him. It’s only a matter of time before calls for his resignation or demands for his sacking start getting louder. Nevertheless, the Portuguese has to make things right this weekend when United face rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
United have not revealed plans to sack Amorim, which means the 40-year-old’s job is safe at the moment.
