Police FC players salary will increase following their 2024-25 Football Kenya Federation-Premier League (FKF-PL) win.
They played their coronation game on Sunday, June 22, against Gor Mahia FC at Ulinzi Sports Complex and drew 1-1 but maintained a 65-point lead to win the FKF Premier League title.
This victory ended their 11-year winless spell since the club’s inception in 2014. They finished top of the 18-team chart. The Police finished six points clear of K’Ogalo, which finished third.
Gor Mahia failed to defend their FKF-PL title and their slot in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
Police FC Players Salary Review after Title Win
Club CEO Chris Oguso confirmed Police FC players salary would increase after the win. According to Oguso, the club is the best-paying in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
On top of the salary review, the CEO said that their competitive salary has attracted the best players to the club. However, he is pushing for a salary review for all players earning a minimum salary.

Oguso said that he has had the conversation with Police FC chairman Munga Nyale to have a one-on-one session with every player and discuss about salary increments based on individual performance.
“We’re looking at those still earning the minimum. We’ve resolved with the chairman, Mr. Munga Nyale, to meet each player individually and discuss possible increments based on their performance this season,” Mozzart Sports reports.
At the same time, Oguso stated that those already earning a big salary must maintain their performance. He insisted that they cannot earn a big salary and perform poorly especially now that they are title winners.
“Those already at the top of the salary scale need to justify it with their performance. You can’t be earning well and not delivering on the pitch. The review will be output-based. Everyone will be assessed according to what they brought to the table in our title-winning season,” Oguso added.
Heavy transfers are the catalyst for Police FC players salary. The club’s transfers are backed by the its financial muscle enabling it to poach top talents from Posta Rangers, Kariobangi Sharks, and AFC Leopards.

Their ambitions now extend beyond Kenya. As they prepare for their CAF Champions League debut, the club’s leadership emphasizes that retaining top talent and offering financial motivation are essential for continued success.
Oguso reiterated that the 2024/2025 season was a huge success for the club and their focus is to maintain the zeal in the next season.
The team’s coach, Burundian national Etienne Ndayiragije has a bigger task beyond Police FC players salary increment.
Ndayiragije is credited with transforming the team since his arrival mid-season, in November 2024.
They were languishing in the mid-table and Ndayiragije brought discipline, tactical formation and winning mentality months into his job.
The Burundian replaced Salim Babu who was fired, together with his whole technical bench due to the poor performance of the club.
Police FC opted to play the high-pressing game thereby improving the defence and the offensive side.
He was concentrating on team work and the leadership which made the players get confident and transformed tremendously.
