Nottingham Forest have secured the services of Nigerian defender Ola Aina for the long haul after he signed a new three-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2028.
The 28-year-old Nigerian full-back had only a year remaining on his contract with Forest. However, the club extended his contract by three years following an impressive season.
Forest finished seventh in the 2024-25 Premier League season and also won the Europa Conference League play-off spot.
Aina performed exemplarily well and the club was eager to retain him for the next three seasons.
What Does Ola Aina Feel about His Contract Extension With Nottingham Forest?
Aina expressed his excitement about staying at the City Ground, describing the club as a place that’s felt like home ever since he arrived.

He said that he’s now fully focused on preparing for the upcoming 2025-26 Premier League season and putting in the hard work needed to build on last year’s success.
The talented full-back, who began his professional journey at Chelsea, joined Forest on a free transfer from Italian side Torino two years ago.
Since then, he’s made 59 appearances and found the back of the net twice, becoming a key player for Forest.
Ola Aina is among the players who signed new deals with Forest this season. Fellow defender Neco Williams signed a new deal last week.
Chris Wood and centre-back Murillo also signed new deals with Forest ahead of the upcoming season.
The club’s quest for success in the upcoming season was further underlined last month when manager Nuno Espirito Santo signed a fresh three-year deal.
Espirito led the team back to European football for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

He noted that Ola Aina reflects the values and work ethic that define Forest and that his presence has made a meaningful difference since he joined.
Marinakis added that he’s excited to see what the future holds with Aina playing a key role in the club’s journey forward.
“He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest. He has had a big influence since his arrival here and we look forward to continuing that journey together to help us achieve incredible things,” BBC quotes him.
