Confirmed reports indicate that Daniel Bichiok couldn’t join Jamus because Nairobi United didn’t sanction the deal despite pushing for a better figure in a bid to sign him.

Sources privy to these happenings reveal that there was a series of happenings with the club that eventually made the 17-year-old defender change his mind about signing with the South Sudanese champions.

Mozzart Sports reports that a top official from the club, Bichiok and a powerful individual serving at the Nairobi County Governor’s office held a meeting a few days ago, and things changed from then onwards.

Insiders aware of this deal revealed that Daniel Bichiok was open to the idea of moving to South Sudan for his next chapter in his football career.

Shortly after Nairobi United’s victory in the Mozzart Bet Cup in a match played at Ulinzi Sports Complex, Bichiok left the celebrations for a while and headed for a meeting with a trusted club official.

It’s believed that the club’s top brass, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s emissary, managed to convince the youngster to turn down Jamus FC’s Ksh3.8 million offer.

Jamus FC was offering $30,000 sign-up fee. However, Bichiok is convinced that this amount is a drop in the ocean, and he deserves more.

His change of heart is linked to his private meeting with the governor’s emissary and the club’s top official.

Sos Kuko Kisukwa, Bichiok’s agent, revealed that his client chose to stick with Nairobi United as he waits for an opportunity to play in Europe to open up.

Bichiok thanked Mohammed Ahmed, the President of Jamus FC, for his consideration. He said that he had envisioned playing in the CAF Champions League with Jamus, but had to put his ‘bigger dream’ above everything.

Following this development, Nairobi United promised to increase his salary and provide bonuses.
