Football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are the latest celebrity couples in town to be engaged. Georgina, the bride-to-be, announced the engagement on Monday, August 11, via her Instagram page. She shared a photo of her hand resting atop the Al Nassr star’s with a large ring featuring an oval-shaped diamond and captioned it: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives”.
Ronaldo is yet to make a comment about the engagement as of the time of this writing. The former Manchester United man and Georgina have been together for nine years now after meeting at a Gucci shop in Madrid where the latter was working. They made their first public appearance in January 2017 at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich and have since made headlines appearing at several events together.

They went official on Instagram in May that year. Ronaldo is the most followed person on the app with over 662 million followers. Georgina, on the other hand, has more than 67.8 million followers.
Cristiano Ronaldo And Georgina Rodriguez Finally Gets ‘That Click’ For Marriage
As earlier stated, Ronaldo and Georgina have been together for nine years now. However, they’ve never been married and were often asked when they’ll tie the knot.
Georgina talked about the pressure of people asking when they’ll get married on her Netflix show I Am Georgina. She said that people have always been asking her “When is the wedding?”, especially after global music sensation Jennifer Lopez released the hit song El Anillo in 2018. The song talks about someone waiting for their partner to propose.
“I have it all, but where’s the ring” Lopez sings in the chorus of the song.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo in an interview revealed that marrying Georgina was always part of his plans. However, he was waiting for “that click” between them before eventually deciding to commit.
“I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about. It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000% sure that it’ll happen.'” Cristiano Ronaldo is quoted by talkSPORT.

Well, it’s safe to say the gifted footballer, who is also one of the richest athletes in the world, has eventually found ‘that click’ with Georgina.
The engagement now marks a new chapter in the life of Ronaldo and his wife- to-be. They’ve built a family and currently live in Saudi Arabia where Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr. The two are parents to five children; Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, Alana, and Bella.

In matters football, Ronaldo continues to wow the world with his impressive performance at 40. The Portuguese international has scored five goals in the past few days, including a hat-trick against Rio Ave and a brace against Almeria. He has so far scored 99 goals for Al Nassr since joining the Saudi Pro League club in a surprise move in January 2023 after falling out with his former club Manchester United.
