He will now open a new chapter in his football career in Austria after Salzburg finalised a €2.25 million deal, less than half of his estimated €5 million market value.

Red Bull Salzburg confirmed signing Clement Mutahi Bischoff on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The club revealed that it paid €2.25 million (approximately Ksh338 million) for the Kenyan-born talent.

The fee is notably less than half of Bischoff’s estimated market value of €5 million, making the deal a strategic acquisition for the Austrian club.

Why Salzburg Signed Bischoff

According to Salzburg’s official statement, Clement Mutahi Bischoff impressed the club with his versatility and attacking potential.

As a graduate of Brøndby’s academy, he already has 55 first-team appearances under his belt, registering three goals and 13 assists.

He also shone on the international stage in June during the UEFA U21 European Championship, where he represented Denmark and scored twice. Salzburg highlighted his creativity and ability to operate both as a forward and in midfield roles.

Sporting Director Rouven Schröder described Bischoff as an ideal addition following the departures of Dorgeles Nene to Fenerbahçe and Adam Daghim to Wolfsburg.

“With Clement Bischoff, we’ve added a creative and versatile attacking option to our squad. He has proven himself at international level and brings valuable experience despite his young age,” Schröder stated.

Schröder also announced the return of Moussa Yeo from injury, noting that Salzburg’s attacking options are now well-balanced.

The 19-year-old says his move to Salzburg represents a new dawn for his football career. Clement Mutahi Bischoff said that he now has an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of players who used the Austrian club as a springboard to bigger leagues.

The teenager was excited that he is now a part of a club with a reputation for nurturing young talent.

“I’m proud to join FC Red Bull Salzburg. For a young player, this is the perfect place to develop because so many top players have started their careers here. I’m eager to get going, meet my new teammates, and contribute to the team’s success,” he said.

The forward also noted his excitement about linking up with his former Brøndby captain Jacob Rasmussen, who spoke highly of Salzburg and the city.

Earlier in the summer, Bischoff was linked with Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Beşiktaş.

However, negotiations fell apart due to unresolved personal terms. Salzburg’s decisive move now positions Bischoff in one of Europe’s top talent-developing clubs.
