Christian Horner exit package from Red Bull racing is into millions of dollars.

It marks his official exit from the F1 team after his surprise sacking in July 2025 after a 20-year stint.

The Brit doubled up as Red Bull CEO, a position he held until recently. The team finally caved into pressure to release him following calls by different quarters.

How Much is Christian Horner Exit Package?

Horner agreed to a £100 million exit package from Red Bull, and a chance to return to Formula 1 in 2026.

According to pundits, Christian Horner exit package is both a swift and soft landing for his F1 career despite not having a job so far since his sacking in July.

He continued to be on Red Bull’s payroll while discussions over his departure were underway. The Briton was entitled to over £100 million in his contract with the Milton Keynes team set to run through 2030.

Red Bull announced on Monday that Horner would leave the team officially with his exit package. According to Sky Sports F1, the 51-year-old agreed to take less money in his exit deal so that he can come back to Formula 1 as early as mid-2026.

Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s head of investments and corporate projects said that Horner did great as the team principal and chief executive for the last two decades.

Through his unwavering dedication, deep knowledge, and forward-thinking approach, Christian played a key role in shaping Red Bull Racing into an F1 giant.

Mintzlaff added that Red Bull will always celebrate him for the noble role he played.

Why Did Red Bull Sack Horner?

As hefty as Christian Horner exit package is, Red Bull is yet to publicly give a reason for sacking him after 20 years.

A common belief is that the team sent him home over an array of issues. One of it could be allegations of inappropriate conduct with an ex-employee, although he was cleared after internal investigations.

The dismissal of the employee shortly after an internal probe cleared him of any wrongdoing set a touchy 18-month for Horner marred by discontentment and controversy.

Jos Verstappen, the father of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen called for Horner’s sacking multiple times following this incident.

Jos called out the team’s top cadre for defending Horner ‘whose alleged misconduct was ruining Red Bull’s performance.’

Horner captained Red Bull through two dominant eras in Formula 1. The first era was between 2010 and 2013 where Sebastian Vettel and the team captured four straight drivers’ and constructors’ titles.

His second era was with Max Verstappen where he secured four consecutive F1 World Championship titles from 2021 to 2024.

Red Bull added constructors’ championships in 2022 and 2023 too.

Is Horner Going to Cadillac F1?

With Cadillac officially joining F1 in 2026, talk has it that Christian Horner exit package factored his possibility of joining the team.

However, reports from the new F1 outfit suggest otherwise. Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac F1, made it clear that the team has no interest in hiring Horner for any role.

He emphasised that no discussions are taking place with the former Red Bull boss and reaffirmed his full support for Graeme Lowdon, the team principal leading Formula One’s 11th outfit.
