On Friday, Antoine Semenyo scored two goals to inspire Bournemouth to stage a 3-1 comeback victory over Fulham in the English Premier League.

Fulham, who played the game without a recognized striker, took the lead in the 70th minute through Ryan Sessegnon. It appeared as if the visitors were on course to recording their first Premier League win on the road but Bournemouth found a way back into the clash in the eight minutes through Semenyo. The in-form Ghanaian forward beat several Fulham players down on the left wing before firing between Bernd Leno’s legs from a tight angle.

Bournemouth are now second on the Premier League standings with 14 points, one behind league leaders Liverpool. However, everyone else is yet to play their gameweek seven fixtures.

Andoni Iraola is doing a fantastic job at Bournemouth this season despite the team losing players worth over £200 million in the summer. The Cherries are yet to lose a Premier League match since opening day defeat to defending champions Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.

One player who has been key in this Bournemouth’s amazing start to the 2025-26 season is Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old Ghanaian was linked with moves to Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur last summer. However, he ended up extending his stay with the Cherries on July 1, despite almost most of first-team players.

Well, his decision to sign a new deal at Bournemouth has turned out to be fantastic business for the Premier League side as he’s one of the most in form strikers in Europe right now. The forward, who hit double figures for the first time in his career last season (11 Premier League goals, 13 goals across all competitions) has so far scored six goals in seven Premier League games.

Antoine Semenyo Is In The Form Of His Life

Semenyo has 14 goal involvement in Bournemouth’s last 13 games. He has scored 10 of those goals. When asked if he thinks that he’s in the best form of his life, the 25-year-old said he thinks so.

“Yeah, I’d like to think so,” he said. “I thank God massively. He’s played a massive part in my life and I’m just reaping the rewards now.” Semenyo told BBC Sport.

Semenyo is currently second on the list of Premier League goalscorers this season, with only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland scoring more goals than him. Considering his amazing form, the top clubs are wishing they had gambled on him during the 2025 summer transfer window.
