“I’m so happy. I’m starting a new adventure. I’m really excited. Feeling the love from those around me means a lot to me. I want to get to work as soon as possible and make them happy on the pitch.” Foot Africa quotes the 29-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper.

Andre Onana Career At Manchester United
Onana arrived at Manchester United from Inter Milan in July 2023. The Red Devils paid a transfer fee of £47.2 million to acquire the services of the once highly-rated goalkeeper.
Onana was seen as the perfect replacement for David de Gea who left United as a free agent following the expiry of his contract. However, things didn’t quite pick for the former Ajax man as he struggled to impress between the posts during his two seasons at Old Trafford.
Onana made a series of errors that did not only deny Manchester United a good finish at the UEFA Champions League during the 2023-24 campaign but also cost them important points in the English Premier League. He made 52 appearances in his first season at Manchester United and 50 in his second spell with the Red Devils.
Despite making major goalkeeping errors, Onana also played a significant role in United’s run to FA Cup triumph in his first season in England.

The 29-year-old’s goalkeeping blunders eventually led to him being dropped to the bench this season as manager Ruben Amorim preferred to have Turkey international Altiy Bayindir start between the posts. Bayindir started all three of Manchester United’s opening Premier League fixtures against Arsenal, Fulham and Wolverhampton.
Onana was offered a chance in the EFL Carabao Cup match against League Two side Grimsby Town, which the Red Devils lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time.

United signed Onana’s replacement, Senne Lammens, on transfer deadline day for an initial £18.1 million plus add-ons. Lemmens, 23, is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils but could have the chance this weekend when Amorim’s side clashes with Manchester City in the first Manchester derby of the season. Bayindir and third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton are also available for the match and it remains to be seen who Amorim will put between the posts on Sunday.
