Emmanuel Osoro, a Harambee Stars forward, has finally shed light on his surprise decision to sign with Zambian top-tier club Power Dynamos instead of heading to Europe.
The talented striker, who left Kenya on Friday, July 11, to join his new side, says the move was based on long-term growth and trust in the club’s structure.
Emmanuel Osoro Turns Down Europe for Zambia
In a candid chat with Mozzart Sport, Emmanuel Osoro revealed that while he had several offers from clubs in Europe, most of them came from lower-tier teams with uncertain futures.
For him, joining Power Dynamos was a strategic step aimed at stability and steady career progression.
He explained that Power Dynamos stood out because it operates with a clear plan and solid sponsorship from Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC), a private power utility firm.
The club, founded in 1971, boasts a rich footballing history, having remained in Zambia’s Super Division since its inception.
With six league titles and the distinction of being the only Zambian side to win a continental championship, it has earned a reputation for consistency and excellence.

“What made me pick Zambia over Europe was the sustainability of Power Dynamos. After evaluating my options, I felt more secure aligning myself with a club that has strong support and proven longevity,” Mozzart reports.
Emmanuel Osoro added that the European interest didn’t quite match his ambitions. Most of the clubs that came calling were from lower divisions, which he felt might not push him to the next level.
“I’m still young and full of potential. I didn’t want to take a chance on a move that could stall my progress or bury me in obscurity,” he noted.
Zambia Ambitions
Having touched down in Zambia, Emmanuel Osoro now shifts his focus to making an impact at Power Dynamos.
His goal is to improve as a player, showcase his talent in a more structured league, and open doors to even bigger opportunities in the future.
“This is just a stepping stone. I’m excited for what lies ahead, and I believe greater things are coming,” he shared optimistically.
At his new club, Osoro will join forces with another Kenyan striker, Moses Shummah, who previously played for Kakamega Homeboyz. Their partnership is expected to add instant firepower to the team’s front line as Power Dynamos eyes a third straight Zambian Super League title.

Before this move, Emmanuel Osoro was in top form at FC Talanta during the recently concluded FKF Premier League season. His goal-scoring prowess stood out, accounting for nearly half of the club’s total goals.
Interestingly, he began the season playing as a winger before transitioning into a striker—a shift that paid off handsomely.
His standout performances did not go unnoticed. Osoro earned a call-up to the national team, Harambee Stars, and made a strong impression on his full debut in June by both scoring and assisting in Kenya’s 2-1 win against Chad.
However, Osoro’s departure, alongside that of Shummah earlier in the year, presents a selection challenge for Harambee Stars ahead of the upcoming Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
Head coach Benni McCarthy, who had banked on the duo’s form and chemistry, may now look to Ryan Ogam as his primary attacking option.
Additionally, Edward ‘Ondimo’ Omondi of Sofapaka FC could be called up to play a bigger role. While Ondimo has displayed flashes of potential, matching the consistency and goal threat that Emmanuel Osoro brought to the team remains a tall task.
