Harambee Stars defender Vincent Harper has officially signed a two-year contract with English League Two side Walsall FC.
The 24-year-old moves to Walsall just two months after parting ways with League One outfit Exeter City.
Harper left Exeter at the end of the 2024/25 season after his contract expired. Walsall confirmed the signing, adding the deal includes an option for an extra year.
Harper primarily plays as a wing-back and spent the last two seasons at Exeter in League One. He made 65 appearances for Exeter, scoring three goals and registering three assists.
Vincent Harper Joins Walsall
Speaking after joining Walsall, Vincent Harper said he was thrilled to sign the deal. He shared that talks with the head coach, Mat Sadler, and the club’s direction convinced him to join.
Harper added that the energy and teamwork shown by the team amazed him last season. The Kenyan footballer maintained that his inclusion in the team would add more energy, dynamism and passion to the club.

His attacking and defence prowess will go a long way in pushing the team to success. He’s eager to contribute to wins and enjoy his time on the pitch with the squad.
Walsall head coach Sadler praised Harper as a high-energy wing-back with top-level athleticism. Sadler noted Harper’s one-on-one defending and speed as major assets for the team.
He said Harper’s League One experience last season makes him an important addition to their squad. The coach also revealed Walsall had been monitoring Vincent Harper closely for some time.
According to Sadler, several other clubs in League Two were also interested in signing Harper. The transfer now awaits clearance from the EFL and FA to be finalized.
What is Vincent Harper Football Career Like?

Born in Nairobi, Vincent Harper began his football career at Bristol City’s academy. He gained senior experience during loan spells at Gloucester City, Weston-super-Mare, and Bath City.
After leaving Bristol City in 2021, Harper had a short stint with Chippenham Town. He was later signed by Eastleigh in the National League, where he spent two solid seasons.
In 2022–23, he impressed at Eastleigh by scoring four goals and showcasing his attacking skills.
His form earned him a move to Exeter City in 2023, for an undisclosed fee. In October 2023, Harper received his first call-up to Kenya’s Harambee Stars but didn’t make his debut.
He is now making a name for himself with The Saddlers, a club competing in the EFL League Two, the fourth tier of English football.
