Paul Pogba Monaco transfer exposed his lowest moment with Juventus, which he signed with after leaving Manchester United in 2022.

He was emotional about his new chapter in his football career back home in France after a rocky three seasons in Italy.

His 18-month doping ban came disguised as a blessing. It helped him know his place wasn’t at Juventus but elsewhere.

Pogba ended his contract with Juventus on mutual grounds in November 2024. He remained without a team for the rest of the season and now joins Monaco as a free agent, marking a new beginning for the French footballer.

News of Paul Pogba Monaco transfer hit the headlines in a big way because it’s the first time that Pogba is playing in Ligue 1.

The 32-year-old has had most of his football career in the English Premier League. He played for the Red Devils for seven seasons.

His first season was in 2011. He left for Juventus in 2012 but returned to Old Trafford in 2016, where he played for the next six seasons, making 154 appearances and scoring 29 goals.

The French midfielder left United at the end of the 2022 season for Juventus, but injuries dimmed his presence on the pitch.

Pogba Frustration at Juventus

It was while with the Serie A club that he nearly hit rock bottom mentally and otherwise. He recently spoke out after news of his transfer to the Ligue 1 team as a free agent.

Life for Pogba wasn’t rosy at all, but he would never speak about it while still with the team.

It was while at Juventus that he was banned for two years for doping. Juventus’ first game of the 2023/2024 season marked the start of Paul Pogba Monaco transfer.

He was barred from playing this match after testing positive for a testosterone-enhancing drug, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).

He received a two-year doping ban but appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Pogba demonstrated that he took the drug unknowingly.

His ban was reduced to 18 months, during which Juventus cut ties with him. Prior to this, he had made only a few appearances for the club, which stressed him up.

He now realises that he was at war with Juventus during his doping ban period, and it affected his children too.

Their school life changed for his children because Juventus’ training centre located on their way to school, always reminded them of their father’s struggles.

“My children went to school near Juve training center, walking past it was very difficult. I asked the club for massages and having an athletic trainer, but they did not help me. I thought I was at war against anti-doping, not Juventus. I had the right for it, they did not support me at all,” Goal Arena reports.
